I presently use 1/3 pine sol to 2/3 water, but yours sounds as if the oil would make it stay on better. I'll have to give it a try.

How does it compare to a store bought fly spray??? (average fly spray, not cheap, not the spendy stuff either)

I have never really found anything to really keep them off that great. I guess I am saying I think this works as well as anything I have ever purchased.

I like the Pine Sol & Water recipe because I can use it as much as I want without feeling like I'm spraying my money down the drain. I use it all over
the place in the barn and on the horses as much and as often as I want to.
Akin Equine also uses it and it came highly recommended by another vet/trainer I heard speak a couple of years ago. I love Piranha aerosol but it's rather pricey and I have to use very lightly to save my pocketbook so I try to only use it at horse shows. |

I have tried several homemade recipes over the years, but I keep coming back to Absorbine in the red container . I buy it at Scruggs now for about $45/gallon.

I purchase Bug Stomper from MidSouth Feed in Millington and it is great.. Nothing keeps the flies off my old mare better..I only use it on her because for a
pint of concentrate its like $30.00. You use, I think 3 oz, to a gal of water ..
